Whale Watching

This was probably the coolest thing we did on our trip. The guides said it was one of the best tours that they have done. We saw everything!

The video is a little long, but it shows two males fighting (?) and then a lot of fin slapping at the end, you can actually hear the slaps.

Maui pictures...

This was Black Rock where we all, well me, Kirk, and Brant, jumped off.
The beach...

I thought this was funny. We also saw a car that with a sign that said
"We are NOT in the last days!"

Colton, Me, Lonni, and Kirk before we started our cold
bike ride down the mountain.

I finally did it...

Well I finally got my picture taken with Cosmo. I've had a lot of chances to get a picture with him at games and everything, but for some reason mascots give me the creeps. I don't know why and I have nothing against Cosmo, it just gives me the EBGB's whenever I see a giant stuffed animal that doesn't talk and you can never tell what they are going to do. But today I was walking to the Wilk and he just happened to be right there in Brigham Square. I just wanted a free taco but he came up behind me and started posing and waiting for a picture. So I pulled out my camera. Cosmo, I now have a picture with you, so keep your distance and I'll keep mine :)

It's Fall? What happened to Summer?

So these past couple weeks have been cold. Cold and miserable. I never knew I hated cold weather and snow so much until I had to start walking in it to school every day for 20 minutes. And then I started thinking, I never really had a summer break, and it looks like I probably won't, at least not for a very long time. Isn't that depressing? Here's how my summer went. I graduated high school in the end of May. I had three weeks until I came down to BYU and I was super stressed. During those three weeks I just packed and tried to get ready. I did have a big goodbye party for myself. I think half of the high school was there. But that's about all I did with my short "summer" break. The rest of my summer consisted of homework, tests, stressing, more homework, and a little bit of fun. After my 8 weeks at BYU, I had 2 weeks for a break. I tried to get in as much swimming, boating, and partying as I could. But it still didn't feel like I had a summer break. And it still doesn't. I'm probably just making it a bigger deal than it is, but it really is depressing. SO here are some of my pictures from my "summer."

Oouuucccchhhhh!

So I went and had allergy testing done this week. Everyone said it would be a breeze, even the doctor. She said she was going to prick me with 32 allergens and see what I reacted to. The ones that I didn't react they would have to give to me again as shots. So... I only reacted to 2 of the 32. That means I got 30 shots, on the same arm. They weren't big shots, they just stuck needles under my skin and put the stuff in. But it was still 30 shots. I found out that I am allergic to dust, cats, and some grasses and weeds. And my arm hurts.

The Sketchy Pep Rally

So this week is homecoming week. Everyone is full of the "True Blue" Cougar Spirit and campus has a new "bounce" and excitement to it, even though it finally got below 60 this week. So here's the creepy story... On Tuesday I picked up the University Paper like I always do. But this time there was a big red stamp on it that said http://www.smootwaswrong.com/ and I thought that was a little weird. I looked at the other papers and some of them had the same stamp. I went to class and pulled out the little side table thing and taped to it was a paper with the same website. Sketchy? Yes. So I hurried over to the library and went to the website and there was this little story about how the campus burned down in its early years and Smoot deemed it a failure. And then you had to fill out this little clue box. After you did that it took you to an invitation. This was even more creepy. So if course I had to tell my friends and we all made plans to go to it. It was wednesday night in the stadium. We went there and there were posters with the website all over the place. We all went and sat down and there were probably like 100 people there. And it was all dark. We almost left because we had midterms to study for but then Max Hall, the quarter back and all the seniors on the football team came running out. They talked to us about school spirit. I felt like I was at one of our weekly pep rallys during high school, it was sorta lame. And then the marching band came out and played the fight song, this was probably the best part. And then they had this big firework display. I think they expected more people to show up, but it was creepy how they did it and only lame freshman (yes, that's me) came to see what it was. Overall, it was very creepy and sketchy at the same time. Here are some pictures of the posters, the pep talk, and then like half of the group that I got to come with me.
